Young Zimbabwean film-makers urged to apply for MultiChoice Talent Factory

MULTICHOICE Zimbabwe has urged young Zimbabwean film-makers to apply for the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academies whose deadline for applications is next week Thursday (July 5).

The MultiChoice Talent Factory Academies will host 60 young and talented people from across Africa in their bid to become top film-makers.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe publicity and public relations manager Liz Dziva called on Zimbabwean hopefuls to apply for a 12-month, fully-funded educational programme aimed at furnishing them with skills to work and be innovate in film and television production.

“The programme will take place at three MTF Academies, one based in Kenya for East Africa, one in Nigeria for West Africa and one in Zambia for Southern and Central African countries,  and will be overseen by acclaimed film and television experts,” she said in a press release.

The academy directors include Njoki Muhoho for the East African hub, Berry Lwando for the Southern African hub and Femi Odugbemi for the West African hub. Odugbemi was recently named one of 10 artistes and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contribution to motion pictures to be offered a US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences membership in 2018.

“MultiChoice urges all aspiring young film and television creatives to submit their entries for the MTF Academy through before the deadline of Thursday July 5,” said Dziva.

“After finalising the adjudication process, 20 MTF students will be selected for each of the three academies, where they will horn their television and film production skills in the company of industry experts during the year-long programme that will start on October 1.”

A reminder of how to enter:

Step 1: Go to and register your details with an active email account. Then go to your inbox and wait for a verification email.

Step 2: Once you have received the verification email, click on the link which will take you back to the MTF website, where you will then click on the ‘Apply’ tab to start the application process.

Step 3: Once the Apply tab opens, fill in all the required information in ALL the fields (Do not forget to save each stage so that your information remains available to you). Also make sure you include/upload ALL the necessary and required documentation (FORMAT: these can be in PDF or Word doc).

Step 4: Click Save and Complete the application process.

Step 5: It’s A wrap! You will get an email in your inbox to confirm successful registration.
